Upon release, there were two alternatives: One was the album on its own, the other was the album with a free copy of the warped tour 3" CD. Both version of Plastic Skies itself were identical.

The Japanses issue contains one bonus track, TV, which was unreleased in Australia at the time. It subsequently appeared on the Too Drunk To Drive single.

EMI also released Plastic Skies with How It Works (2CD version) as a double album promotion in August '05. Both albums were in their own jewel cases with full original artwork, and both were silver discs. They were packaged together in a card slipcase.
